From Raw Structure to Urban Landmark

Rather than designing a building from the ground up, this project began with an existing unfinished structure—a raw concrete shell waiting for its identity. The intervention focused on reimagining its architectural expression through a new facade and the transformation of its roof into a rooftop restaurant overlooking the city.

The design introduces a bold yet refined language, where deep burgundy volumes frame each opening, creating rhythm, depth, and a strong visual identity. The facade plays with light and shadow throughout the day, giving the building a constantly changing character while preserving a clear and elegant composition.

Positioned on a hillside in Prishtina, the hotel embraces its unique setting. Instead of competing with the surrounding landscape, it becomes part of it. Layers of greenery, neighboring residential buildings, and carefully framed views establish a dialogue between architecture and nature, allowing the hotel to feel rooted within its urban context.

The rooftop restaurant serves as the project's defining gesture. Elevated above the city, it transforms what was once an unused roof into a destination—a place where architecture extends beyond accommodation to create experience. Protected by a light transparent enclosure, the rooftop offers panoramic views while maintaining an open connection to the sky and surrounding landscape.

Ultimately, the project is about giving new life to an unfinished structure. Through a restrained architectural language, carefully proportioned interventions, and a renewed relationship with its surroundings, the hotel evolves from a simple raw shell into a contemporary landmark—one that finds its identity not through excess, but through clarity, atmosphere, and thoughtful transformation.
