Timelessness Through Monochrome

Designed as a study in historical eras, this apartment brings different design timelines together within a single space.

The open layout seamlessly connects the living, dining, and kitchen areas into one fluid environment. Light wood flooring runs throughout, grounding the interior and creating a natural transition between a clean, modern kitchen and a minimal lounge space meant for relaxation.

The intent is to mix contrasting styles while keeping a strict minimalist feel. Overhead, a raw, untouched concrete ceiling shows off its industrial texture, bringing a heavy, brutalist canopy over the apartment. This rough surface stands in direct contrast with the walls, which are detailed with elegant, classical moldings and an ornate historic door frame.

The custom furniture pushes the design toward the future. A large, metallic island anchors the dining space, its brushed, curved surface reflecting light as a sleek, futuristic contrast to the traditional wall details.

By letting these different eras—classic, brutalist, modern, and futuristic—interact directly, the apartment feels both rich in history and ahead of its time.
